The Royal Mint Museum

A visit to the Royal Mint museum will allow you to explore over 1000 years of the history of British coinage.

The museum is located on the same site as the actual Royal Mint where the UKs coins are currently made.

This is something you will be able to see in action at the museum.

The Royal Mint museum has a variety of collections including;

• Coins – Over 80000 coins dating back to Roman times up to present day
• Medals – over 11500 medals including some from 1815 for the Battle of Waterloo
• Seals
• Minting Equipment
• Artwork and Plaster models

There are plenty of interactive displays where you can explore what exactly goes into he process of making a coin.

The museum also hosts school workshops as well as VIP tours.
