The Pen Museum

The Pen Museum is situated in the Argent Centre in central Birmingham. The Argent Centre was previously a pen factory built in the Victorian period of the 1860’s. The Pen Museum is dedicated to the historic pen trade in Birmingham.

The manufacturing of the Steel Pen Nibs was a massive industry in Birmingham with up to 120 companies in its boom period.

During your visit to the Pen Museum you can make you own pen nib on the original 19th century machinery. You can try your typing skills on historic typewrites and also take calligraphy classes both old and modern. maybe try your hand at writing with a quill and ink as well!
