Since 2012 the national Football Museum has been located in Manchester city centre.

With fascinating artefacts and changing displays, dive into the history and culture of the UKs most popular sport, and learn how football came to be the most important sport in our life.

Some of the the items on display include:

  • Pele’s 1962 world cup winners medal
  • Franz Beckenbauer’s boots from the 1966 cup final where Germany lost to England
  • Geoff Hurst’s shirt from the same game.
  • George Bests Northern Ireland youth caps.
