The fantastic collection which is housed in the Leeds Art Gallery was assigned the title of a ‘collection of national importance’.
Situated in central Leeds and in walking distance to the Leeds Cathedral, Leeds central library and the Leeds city museum the Leeds art gallery is an excellent place to visit, especially for art lovers.
Split into several galleries some exhibits on display include the sculptures ‘Hieroglyph’ by Barbara Hepworth and ‘Mother and Child’ by Henry Moore. The paintings, the ‘Shadow of Death’ by William Hunt, ‘Scotland Forever’ by Elizabeth Thompson and the more recent ‘Tin Mine’ by Graham Sutherland.
