The Gordon Highlanders were one of the most well known of the Scottish Regiments. Originally starting out as the 100th regiment of foot the Gordons have fought in most campaigns up until there amalgamation in 2006 where they became ‘The Highlanders, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland’.
In the early years the Gordon Highlanders fought the French and Napoleon in Europe in 1780’s, in India in 1857, in Egypt, Sudan and South Africa in the Boer Wars. the fought in WW1 on the western front and in WW2 in France and Belgium and the far east.
