Located in Newcastle – Tyne and Wear, Newcastle Castle is a great place to visit for History & Castle lovers.
Dating back to the middle of the 2nd Century and originally built by the Romans when a ‘new castle’ was built ‘upon the Tyne’ river, this castle has been rebuilt and updated several times.
The Keep (grade 1 listed building) and the Black gate are accessible and worth a visit after their recent refurbishment.
The castle is often host to film nights, theatrical performances and lectures.
