Scottish National Gallery

Dating back to 1859 the Scottish National Gallery situated in central Edinburgh on the Mound is the official national art gallery of Scotland with an extensive selection of fine Scottish and international art.

Some well-known masterpieces are included in the collection by artists such as:

• Rembrandt
• Constable
• Van Dyck
• Jacopo Bassano.

Amongst the displays to be seen are:

• Seventy Years of Scottish Art 1850-1920
• Gothic/Renaissance 1300—1550
• Scottish Art 1670 — 1840
• the Cabinet pictures, previously exclusive to royalty
