The Imperial War Museum North

The Imperial War museum North is one of five museums run by IWM. The northern version of the Imperial War Museum is located in Manchester in the north west of England.

The museum, similar to the London version, focuses on the first and second world wars, the cold war and 1990 to present day.

Objects on display include;

• a US harrier jet
• a first world war field gun
• steel remains recovered from the ruins of the World Trade Center

Explore the 5 chapters of conflicts in the main exhibition area. They are;

• First World War 1914 – 1918
• Between the Wars 1919 – 1939
• Second World War 1939 – 1945
• Cold War 1946 – 1989
• Into a New Century 1990 – present

There is no entrance fee for entry to the Imperial War Museum North.
